Ken Goulet is a senior-level health care executive with 30+ years of proven experience in growing and leading large health plan organizations. He has significant experience managing multi-billion dollar P&L and consumer-focused service operations organizations.
Most recently, Ken served as the executive vice president of Anthem Inc., and president of the company’s Commercial and Specialty Business division – the largest Commercial Business Division in the United States. He was responsible for the company’s local business; national accounts; and specialty products. He had P&L accountability for 30 million medical members and 17.5 million specialty members. His responsibilities included strategy, marketing, product, medical management, provider engagement & contracting and service operations.
Ken successfully led Anthem through the industry’s turbulent transition to the Affordable Care Act, developing and executing the strategy and implementation of Public Exchanges, which put Anthem in the position as the largest and most profitable public carrier. In addition, he successfully advanced Provider Collaboration strategies across the enterprise, integrated and grew Anthem Specialty Companies, and organically grew Anthem’s Commercial Business to the largest domestic Commercial business carrier.
Ken also served in a variety of executive leadership roles at Anthem, including president and CEO of the Employer, Medicaid, Individual and Specialty Business Unit; president and CEO of the former Commercial Business Unit and president and CEO of National Accounts. Prior to his general management roles, he served as senior vice president of sales & account management and chief marketing officer for the National Accounts team. Before joining Anthem, Ken spent 23 years at CIGNA Corporation where he held a number of management, sales, and operations positions.
Ken received a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.
