Former Meta, Zynga, and Yahoo! executive to drive technology transformation across the organization.
CareCentrix, a Walgreens-owned and leading home-centered care company, has appointed Phil Finucane as Chief Technology Officer, effective October 28, 2024.
In his role at CareCentrix, Finucane will lead the development and implementation of the company’s technology strategy—overseeing technology operations, information security, and software development, among other areas—to drive impactful business results.
Finucane brings 30 years of technology experience to CareCentrix. Prior to joining CareCentrix, Finucane served as the CEO of Pat.ai, a pre-seed startup focused on developing an explainable and deterministic natural language comprehension engine.
His background includes leadership roles at Silicon Valley tech giants such as Meta, Zynga, and Yahoo!. He also led large-scale transformations at Express Scripts and American Express. This diverse range of experiences has shaped Finucane’s leadership style, enabling him to build effective teams with strong technical and operational competency. He studied Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management at Stanford University.
“I am thrilled to welcome Phil to our senior leadership team,” said CareCentrix CEO Steve Horowitz. “His extensive experience and innovative approach to technology will be instrumental in advancing our mission to expand in-home care solutions and ensure we exceed the needs of our clients, provider partners, and the members we serve.”
“CareCentrix is at the forefront of transforming home-centered care, and technology is critical to powering everything we do,” said Finucane. “We have an amazing team, and with the right technology and engineering mindset, we can further enhance member experience and outcomes. I look forward to helping develop innovative solutions that drive our mission forward.”
Jon Joplin, who previously served as CareCentrix’s Chief Technology Officer, has transitioned to Walgreens as its VP, Chief Technology and Operations Officer Pharmacy Fulfillment.
