
Sandy is a Nurse Coach in the Post-Acute Care Program and brings more than 35 years of healthcare experience to CareCentrix.
Sandy began her career as an obstetrics nurse at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Rockville, Maryland. While working in obstetrics, she obtained her certification as a childbirth educator and provided education to expectant families throughout Northern Virginia and Maryland, preparing for delivery. After moving back to South Carolina, Sandy transitioned to pharmaceutical sales, utilizing her medical knowledge to educate and train physicians and pharmacists on new treatments. She was nationally recognized for the role she played in the launch of several new medications.
After a successful pharmaceutical sales and marketing career, Sandy returned to patient care. She went on to spend six years as regional hospice director and patient care coordinator, overseeing the day-to-day operations of several hospices. As the RN Clinical Director, she was responsible for managing the coordination and clinical care of hospice patients, and she regularly worked with patients and their families.
Before joining CareCentrix, Sandy worked for a major insurance company, providing telephonic and in-home education and guidance to patients transitioning from hospital to home.
Sandy is a Registered Nurse who holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and a Legal Nurse Consulting Certification from the College of Charleston. She also has a South Carolina Compact Nursing License and a New York Nursing License.
