Melinda

Melinda is a Nurse Coach in the Post-Acute Care Program and brings over eleven years of RN experience to CareCentrix.

Melinda began her career at Southeast Alabama Medical Center, where she worked on a busy Medical-Surgical Floor, caring for patients with a diverse range of illnesses and surgeries, with a specialization in Urology/Nephrology. During her time there, Melinda received multiple Rosie Awards, precepted nursing students, and established a valuable foundation that she continues to carry throughout her career. She then brought her experience to a small 20-bed Baptist hospital, where she contributed to a more personalized environment. Subsequently, Melinda joined the Outpatient Infusion Team at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL, where she embraced a new specialty focused on administering intravenous medications, blood products, and injections. This position brought her immense joy. After relocating, she transitioned to home hospice care, where she assisted terminally ill members of her community in navigating end-of-life care. Hospice care will always hold a significant place in her heart.

Melinda gained nearly four years of case management and triage experience while working in the hospice sector, which has facilitated a smooth transition to her current role as a Nurse Coach. She has enjoyed the shift from bedside care to a telephonic work environment. Although Nurse Coaches do not meet patients face-to-face, they can still significantly assist patients as they transition from inpatient care to managing their health at home. Melinda appreciates the opportunity to hear patient stories, guide patients in navigating their post-hospital care, and provide essential support and direction to those who need it most.

Melinda holds an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from Chipola College and possesses a Florida Compact Nursing License.
