Charles Berg, a veteran healthcare executive, who has served in various leadership roles throughout the healthcare industry, brings senior-level experience in building and scaling payer and provider-centric businesses across the country. Currently, he serves as president of the U.S. Government Business at Cigna. Charles also sits on the board of directors of DaVita Inc., a public international dialysis provider, and Justworks, Inc., a private human resources technology company. He is also a member of the Operating Council of Consonance Capital Partners, a healthcare-focused private equity firm.
From 2008 to 2013, Charles served as executive chairman of WellCare Health Plans, Inc., a provider of managed care services for government-sponsored healthcare programs.
Prior to this, he held various executive positions with Oxford Health Plans, Inc., a health benefit plan provider. He was executive vice president, medical delivery, and then president and CEO when the plan was acquired by UnitedHealth Group. Berg then became an executive of UnitedHealth Group and was primarily responsible for integrating the Oxford business.
Charles earned a JD from Georgetown University Law Center and a BA in political science from Macalester College.
