Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Jasen Gundersen brings more than 20 years of health care experience to CareCentrix including clinical and leadership positions in a wide variety of settings. As the Chief Medical Officer, he is responsible for clinical operations and provides guidance on strategies and products to meet the company’s mission of making the home the center of patient care.
Dr. Gundersen comes to us from TeamHealth, where he most recently held the role of President, Hospitalist and Post-Acute Services. At TeamHealth, Dr. Gundersen led a wide variety of service lines including hospital medicine, specialty hospitalists and the nation’s largest post-acute care program. He was responsible for all aspects of the group’s business, including direct P&L responsibility, program development, clinical outcomes and operations. In addition, he worked closely with managed care and risk-based programs including Bundled Payments for Care Improvement (BPCI), Institutional Special Needs Plans (I-SNPs), Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and Medicare advantage programs. Prior to TeamHealth, Jasen served in a wide variety of clinical and leadership positions at UMass Memorial Healthcare where he was a Clinical Associate Professor at the UMass Medical School.
Dr. Gundersen earned his medical degree at the University of Connecticut, School of Medicine; conducted his Family Medicine residency at UMass Memorial Medical Center; and completed the Physician MBA program offered by the University of Tennessee.
