HARTFORD, Conn. – May 17, 2011 – CareCentrix, Inc., the nation’s leading provider of home health benefits management services, announced today that it has signed a two-year contract with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. CareCentrix will be the exclusive manager of durable medical equipment, supplies, orthotics & prosthetics, and home health benefits to the plan’s 32,000 Medicare Advantage members across the state of Tennessee.
This marks CareCentrix’s second contract with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. Last year, BlueCross BlueShield’s subsidiary, Volunteer State Health Plans (VSHP), contracted with CareCentrix to serve as its sole home healthcare provider to approximately 450,000 members participating in Tennessee’s Medicaid program, TennCare.
Over the past three years, CareCentrix has expanded its core services to support payers with their goals of improving patient outcomes and reducing costs. Since partnering with Water Street Healthcare Partners, a strategic private equity firm focused exclusively on health care, it has secured contracts with leading health plans that have increased its contracted revenue from $300 million in 2008 to approximately $750 million in 2011.
“We are honored that BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has decided to expand its relationship with CareCentrix. It is a testament to our expertise in providing individuals with access to high-quality networks in their communities that support their care and recovery at home,” said Eric Reimer, chief executive officer, CareCentrix. “We look forward to growing our relationship and providing BlueCross BlueShield’s members with quality home healthcare services.”
