OVERLAND PARK, Kan. and HARTFORD, Conn. – August 18, 2009 – CareCentrix, Inc., the nation’s leading provider of home health benefits management services, has chosen Overland Park for its newest regional care center. CareCentrix will employ 90 customer service, clinical and management personnel in its new center by February 2010, and anticipates having up to 150 personnel in place within two years. Growth in the company’s home care management business and emerging opportunities in the area of hospital-to-home transitional care are the driving forces behind its decision to open the center.
“CareCentrix has experienced significant growth over the past year. As home and transitional care management services play an increasingly important role in the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective health care and importantly, contribute to improved and clearly measurable health care outcomes, we fully expect our growth to continue,” said Eric Reimer, chief executive officer, CareCentrix. “Establishing an office here in Overland Park is another step in our business development plan to provide excellent service and care to our growing base of customers.”
CareCentrix chose Overland Park as the location for its newest center in large part because of the high caliber workforce in the community, a resource the company will be turning to as it prepares to open its center in October 2009. The new center will provide home care benefits management services to a growing list of health care clients as well as expand CareCentrix’s presence in the region. The company, which is headquartered and operates a care center in East Hartford, Connecticut, also operates care centers in Tampa, Florida; Albuquerque, New Mexico and Phoenix, Arizona.
“The skill level of the employee base in Overland Park made the community a natural selection for our expansion,” said Tom Boelsen, CareCentrix chief financial officer. “We performed a due diligence review of several markets from a financial and real estate perspective and Overland Park matched up well to our goals as a company that is focused on providing outstanding service to our customers.”
The Overland Park City Council provided consent approval at this past Monday’s City Council meeting for CareCentrix to lease approximately 25,000 square feet on the Sprint-Nextel world headquarters campus. Final real estate transactions are being completed with an anticipated move-in date of October 1, 2009.
“Health care-related businesses represent an increasingly important segment of our local and regional economy and that is further evidenced by CareCentrix choosing our community,” said Lavern Squier, Senior Vice President of the Overland Park Economic Development Council.
